Public speaking can be an intimidating and a forbidding prospect for many individuals. That’s why Synergies Work has partnered with Toastmasters International to offer a mentoring program for individuals looking to develop their public speaking skills. This opportunity is only available to members of Synergies Work. Participants will receive mentoring from experienced Toastmasters and attend local Toastmasters meetings as they build confidence and gain essential communication skills.
On June 6th, 2019 the first annual Talk to Lead Luncheon was held at the Coca- Cola HQ, Atlanta in partnership with This- Ability BRG and the 310 North Toastmasters Club. It was a special event that combined the power of leadership, entrepreneurship, communication, and inspiration to enable our people and communities to lead with no limits. Stories of successful entrepreneurs as well as public speaking coaching from seasoned Toastmasters presenters was shared. More importantly, the event educated members on redefining the word “disability” to eliminate unnecessary bias and preconceived notions of dependence. Guest speakers from Synergies Work and the This-Ability BRG & Toastmasters Club guided the audience through their journey of overcoming this bias and finding success throughout their careers in business.
At Synergies Work we are all about living your purpose. This means making choices and being intentional. As an organization that is committed to expanding business opportunities for people with disabilities, this is a small but an intentional step in that direction.
Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of promoting communication and public speaking skills.
