Artist Juvaes Lavelle started his adolescence like most boys do; as an athlete. For him art was simply a hobby. It was not until his middle school teacher planted a seed of confidence did he realize his true potential and natural talent.
Juvaes entered one of Atlanta’s number one visual arts program under the guidance of world renowned creators, like mentor and sculptor Tony Loadholt. In this environment his exploration of mediums spanned from metal sculpting and inks to acrylics. During this time he not only gained a commitment to the craft and honed his focus; he gained the ability to trust his inner voice – a powerful trait to have as an artist. Artists who achieve self acceptance are able to create their best and most honest art. His confidence in himself as well as in his artistic vision led him to the New School of the Arts in Miami, Florida,
A second home to the young artist, he allowed the culture of the colorful bustling metropolis in his heart, and eventually he realized his specialty. The larger than life art that had Miami’s buildings as its canvases, had an even larger effect on Juvaes. Lines, colors, shapes, penmanship, universal feeling, canvases and prints are just a few elements of his process. Transferring his work from a drawing pad, onto the interior wall of a cafe, or a exterior wall of a multi-story building transformed Juvaes into VAEZ – Muralist and Designer.
With clear objectives and a world of possibilities and the desire to continue his imprint amongst the culture, VAEZ eventually plans to study abroad utilizing his mastery in Fine Arts to further his plethora of multimedia styled art work.
