Leela Johnstone is an applied learning scientist and early-stage founder working with healthcare and human service organizations. She is the founder of Upliftem, a developing venture focused on improving patient/client learning, engagement, and outcomes by applying principles from learning and human performance science. Leela has worked across healthcare, education, and training contexts, supporting curriculum development, patient education programs, and clinician training initiatives. Her current focus is testing how a learning and performance lens can help organizations strengthen the effectiveness of services and programs without adding burden for providers. Through the Igniting Ideas program, she is refining her approach, learning from real-world feedback, and exploring early applications of her work.
