Bio:

Paul Kent – Founder, Advocate, Innovator Paul Kent is the visionary founder of the disAbled Life Alliance, a public benefit corporation, and Executive Director of the disAbled Life Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization—both committed to advancing disability innovation and inclusion. His personal journey took a transformative turn on December 1, 2020, when he underwent a pioneering bilateral below-the-knee Ewing Amputation as part of a clinical study led by Dr. Matthew Carty at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, effectively ending a decade-long health crisis. Prior to his work in the disability space, Paul built a distinguished career in financial services, most notably at Jefferies & Company where he held senior leadership roles in US Equity Sales and Trading. After retiring, he launched Idlewood Capital Partners to support first-time fund managers and advise emerging investment banks. In 2016, he shifted his focus to the social impact sector, blending capital markets experience with philanthropic strategy to guide donors and investors in aligning wealth with purpose. Through disAbled Life, Paul channels both personal insight and professional expertise into an innovative model of collaboration between private funders, innovators, and advocates to accelerate systemic change and create lasting opportunity for the disability community.

AdaptiveAlly also creates paid opportunities for disabled professionals to contribute their expertise. As a deaf founder, I’m building for a community I’ve lived in, not just researched. What sets us apart is that we don’t just design for disabled people—we pay them to help build the future of accessibility.
